JOIN RCFD
The Richland Center Fire Department is always looking for volunteers willing to dedicate themselves to community service in return for respect, tradition and fellowship known only to those who give and have given the most valuable resource today… time. Being a member is an invaluable way to contribute to your community, as well as having the genuine personal satisfaction that you get when helping others in need.
RCFD provides structural and wildland firefighting, and fire prevention services to Richland Center and surrounding areas. In addition, RCFD contributes in many different ways to charities and local events in the community and surrounding area.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Resident of the Richland Fire District
- 18 years of age or older
- Physically able to carry out the requirements
- Possess valid driver’s license
- Have a reliable mode of transportation
- Pass a criminal background check
Annual requirements to be in good standing with the department:
- Respond to 33% of all calls for service (approximately 75 out of 220 calls a year)
- Participate in 75% of bi-monthly trainings, the first and third Monday nights are fire training.
In the first year as a probationary Firefighter, you’ll complete the following:
- Probationary Orientation Curriculum
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Firefighter 1 and HazMat Awareness/Operations Class
- Wisconsin DNR Wildland Certification
