Fire, EMS, and Sheriff’s Deputys were sent to the Village of Boaz in Dayton Township at aproximately 11:15 p.m. on June 11, 2011 for a report of an individual that had driven their vehicle into Mill Creek by the Boaz Park. Firefighters responded with Rescue 706 and Engine 705 and found the person that had called 911 for help was sitting on the roof of his vehicle in the creek. Water has the auto submerged upto the bottom of the windows. A ladder was set on bank of the creek and extended to the hood of the auto and the single occupant of the vehicle crawled across it to shore. The driver was not injured, just a little wet and declined medical transport. Firefighters remained on scene and provided lighting for a local towing company as they removed the vehicle from the water. No injuries were reported.
