A storm front passing through outside of the City Limits of Richland Center blew a tree into power wires owned by Alliant Energy. The location of the call was on Arnell Drive in Section 28 of Richland Township. Firefighters were paged to the location due to arcing caused by the wires. Once on scene firefighters set up a safety zone around the tree and the power line involved and waited for a lineman from the power company to cut power to the line. Once power was removed the fire burned its self out. Fourteen firefighters responded to the page with a crew going to the scene in Engine 705. The call came in on September 29th, 2011 at approximately 3:05 p.m. Firefighters were on the scene for less than an hour. No injuries were reported. The power company cut up the downed tree and restored power.
