On December 16th, 2013, at approximately 2:00 P.M., the Richland Center Fire Department was paged for a smell of smoke at a location on Central Avenue in the City of Richland Center. Firefighters responded with Engine 705 and Squad 708. Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found the source of the smell to be coming from a light ballast that had went bad. Firefighters were on scene for about 45 minutes. The Richland Center City Utilities assisted at the scene.
