On Wednesday afternoon October 27, 2010 the Richland Center Fire Department sent fire units to multiple points in Richland County to assist the Sheriff’s Department with traffic control for power lines that were blown down with the high winds that had passed through the area. Department members stood by at the locations untill the power company arrived on scene and de-energized the lines. Please remember if you come across a downed power line assume that it is live and you can be seriously injuried or killed if you come into contact with it. Please call the power company, or local law enforcement to report the downed line, and keep yourself and other bystanders away from the line for safety.
