A motorcycle accident occurred on Highway 14 just West of the City of Richland Center in Section 17 of Richland Township at approximately 8:00 a.m. on August 26, 2011. The accident happened in thick fog as the operator of the cycle attempted to slow down. There were no other vehicles involved in the accident. 18 firefighters responded to the call and took Rescue 706 and Engine 705 to the scene where they performed traffic control and cleared the road of debris. The Richland County Sheriffs Department investigated the accident and Richland County EMS transported the driver of the cylce to the Richland Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The cycle was towed from the scene.
