A call of an out of control grass fire to the Richland County Dispatch Center sent firefighters to a residence on Crow Hill School Road in Section 19 of Richland Township. The call came in at aproximately 7:30 pm, on October 4, 2011. Prior to arrival by the Fire Department it was determined that there were actually people watching the fire and no help was needed. the 18 firefighters who responded to the call all returned to the station without incident. The Richland County Sheriffs Department, and the Fire Explorers assisted at the call.
