An issue in the mechanical room for one of the elevators at the Richland Hospital caused the fire alarm in the building to activate. Firefighters from the Richland Center Fire Department were sent to the Hospital just before midnight on Friday night October 2, 2015 to investigate. They found the problem in the elevator control room and along with the Hospital maintenance team took the elevator out of service. No one was in the elevator at the time of the incident and the unit will be repaired and inspected by the Hospitals contracted elevator maintenance company. There were no injuries reported at the incident, and firefighters returned to the station in short order.
