Firefighters responded with Rescue 706, Engine 705, and Squad 715 to a single vehicle accident in Dayton Township on January 4, 2012. A Chevy pickup truck with a single occupant was traveling East on Tuckaway Valley Lane when the vehicle left the roadway striking a parked flatbed semi trailer several hundred feet off the roadway in a field. Firefighters assisted Richland County EMS with their patient who was transported to the Richland Hospital. The truck received severe damage and was towed from the scene. The driver was able to be removed with out the use of the jaws of life. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash. Western Richland County First Responders, and the Wisconsin State Patrol also assisted at the scene. Fire units were on scene for about an hour.
