Firefighters responded to the report of a strong odor of smoke in the building at Titleworks LLC, located in downtown Richland Center on September 6, 2011 at approximately 3:05 p.m. Twenty firefighters responded to the call with Engine 705 and Squad 708 and after a walk through of the building it was determined that an electric motor in an upstairs furnace had overheated. Power to the unit was disconnected and the building was ventilated to remove the haze of smoke. No injuries were reported. The Richland Center Fire Explorers, Richland Center Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Department , and the City Electric Utility all assisted at the scene. Owners of the business were advised to call their service technician to go through the furnace.
