On April 15, 2011, at approximately 2:35 p.m. the Richland Center Fire Department was paged for a residential smoke alarm that was going off in a house on Hell Hollow Road in Ithaca Township of Richland County. Firefighters responded with Engine 705, Tanker 704, and Squad 708. Upon arrival at the scene, by a department member who was working close by, it was discovered that smoke from a neighbor burning had entered the house through an open window triggering the detector and causing the alarm.Fire units were advised of the correct nature of the call and returned to the station without incident. No injuries were reported. Richland Center Fire Explorers also responded to the page for help alnog with 21 firefighters.
