Engine 710 was initially built in 1988 by Seagrave Fire Apparatus in Clintonville, WI, for the Village of Phelps fire department in New York. This truck was purchased by the City of Richland Center in July of 1990, after it was involved in an accident and replaced for Phelps by their insurance company. The heavy duty construction of this vehicle kept damage to a minimum and it has provided many years of reliable service for the RCFD. Upon its purchase by the RCFD Engine 710 was placed into front line service as a city engine. In July of 2003, after the delivery of engine 705 it became the second out engine. 710 was the first fire truck in the RCFD fleet to be of a custom cab and chassis design that was built by a single source manufacturer from the ground up. |
