On Thursday March 4th, 2010, the Richland Center Fire Department was requested to respond at approximately 10:15am to assist Law Enforcement in a search for a missing 86 year old man. The male had been reported missing since Monday by his family. His vehicle had been located early Thursday morning in Dayton township. During the search, a Richland Center Firefighter found a footprint that appeared to be more recent than those searchers had been seeing. The firefighter held the area while a K-9 was brought to that location. From that footprint, the K-9 searched and located the body of the missing male. The male was found in a dry creek bed just before 1:00 p.m. Thursday, less than a mile from his abandoned vehicle.
Firefighters were on the scene until approximately 2:00pm.
