On September 7th, at approximately 11:15 am, the Richland Center Fire Department was paged for a grass fire on Jeffers Lane off of Nebraska Hollow Road in Ithaca Township. RCFD responded with Brush Trucks 711 and 712, Engine 705, Utility 718, ATV 719, Tanker 704, and Light Rescue 715. Upon arriving on scene, it was discovered that a tree branch had come in contact with powerlines and started the grass and a brush pile on fire. RCFD personnel were on scene for about 30 minutes. The Richland Center Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the DNR.
