Firefighters from the RCFD were notified of a small brush fire on Arnell Drive just South of the City of Richland Center in Richland Township. The call came to the 911 Dispatch Center at approximately 3:20pm on Tuesday Jan. 19, 2016. Prior to firefighters leaving the station a Department Officer who went directly to the scene determined that the brush pile that was surrounded by snow was a controlled burn and the Department was not needed. The Richland Center Police Department also responded to the scene.
