2 Vehicle Accident – US 14 West

Richland Center Fire units were sent to Dayton Township Section 16 at Approximately 8:00 p.m. for the report of a 2 vehicle accident. Upon arrival it was found that a vehicle had struck a  deer owned by the Department of Natural Resources causing the driver to loose control and collide with another auto.  Firefighters cleared the road of debris and spilled vehicle fluids, and assisted with traffic control. Richland County EMS and the Richland County Sheriffs Department were also both on scene. Both vehicles were removed by local towing companies. Firefighters responded with Rescue 706, Engine 705, and Squad 715. 22 firefighters that responded to the page with not all going to the scene, and were on scene for about an hour. There were no serious injuries reported, but the deer was pronounced deceased at the scene.
