1 Car Rollover – Morris Valley Road

A busy day for firefighters was capped off when a driver leaving work on January 4, 2012 decided to take a short cut and drove around road closed signs at the East end of Morris Valley Road. The road is closed every winter in this area due to the very steep grade that is unable to be kept clear of ice. At approximately 2:15 pm the operator of the car lost control on the ice causing the vehicle to roll over near the bottom of the hill. Firefighters responded with Rescue 706, Engine 705, and Squad 715 and assisted Richland County EMS with their patients who were able to exit the vehicle with out the jaws of life being used. The 2 occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Richland Hospital for treatment of their minor injuries. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol were also on the scene. Firefighters also cleared the roadway of vehicle parts and spilled engine fluids. The vehicle was towed from the scene by a local towing company.
